We are seeking deep learning experts with a deep, system-level understanding of how models are designed, trained, and behave in production. The focus of this role is on perception systems, primarily camera-based vision, with optional exposure to LiDAR and radar sensors. This is not a role for “black-box” model users. We are looking for someone who can reason about model architectures, training dynamics, and performance behavior, rather than relying solely on prior job titles or years of experience.



Job description


  • Develop and evolve deep learning backbones for perception systems
  • Focus on camera-based perception, with optional work on LiDAR and radar integration
  • Explore and implement Vision Transformer architectures and other advanced model designs
  • End-to-end reasoning: data → model → system behavior
  • Analyze, diagnose, and improve model robustness, generalization, and failure modes

Requirements


  • Deep understanding of deep learning architectures at a fundamental level
  • Ability to reason about training dynamics, generalization, robustness, and failure cases
  • Experience designing, modifying, and improving models rather than using off-the-shelf solutions
  • Strong understanding of trade-offs between different backbone architectures (e.g., CNNs vs Vision Transformers)
  • Clear and confident communication of complex technical concepts
  • Preferred Background | There is no single required path, but strong signals include:
  • PhD-level research with strong publications in deep learning, or
  • Hands-on experience in deep learning at top-tier DL-driven organizations (e.g., Nvidia, Waymo, or similar)
  • Automotive experience is not required.



The position is suitable for candidates with education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI or a related field (or equivalent practical experience)

English: very good working proficiency (B2+)
