Short description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer or Java Architect to join a long-term cloud-based project for an external client. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong technical ownership, deep AWS knowledge, and the ability to design and implement robust cloud-native solutions. The position requires onsite presence in Bratislava at least two days per week.

Job description

• Design and develop cloud-native backend services using Java (11/21) and Spring Boot (2.x / 3.x).
• Contribute to architectural decisions and platform evolution during phase two of a long-term AWS-based project.
• Deploy and manage containerized applications using Kubernetes (AWS EKS) and Helm.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub.
• Implement and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Work extensively with AWS services including ECR, EC2, S3, RDS, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.
• Design and optimize database structures (PostgreSQL required; Oracle is a plus).
• Collaborate closely with international teams and external stakeholders.
• Ensure clean, maintainable, production-ready code and infrastructure configurations.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in Java development (Java 11 and 21) with Spring Boot.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services in production environments.
• Proven experience with Kubernetes (EKS), Helm, and containerized deployments.
• Solid knowledge of Terraform and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Experience building and maintaining Jenkins CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong database experience with PostgreSQL (Oracle is an advantage).
• Slovak/Czech -based candidate with availability to work onsite in Bratislava at least 2 days per week.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
