We are looking for an experienced Senior AI/ML Engineer & Software Architect to join an exciting long-term project in the energy sector.

The project focuses on developing a proprietary technology platform for energy market forecasting, optimization, and energy resource management, including battery storage systems and hydropower plants.

We are seeking a hands-on professional who combines Machine Learning and AI expertise with strong software engineering and technical architecture skills.

This role goes beyond developing and training ML models. You will also contribute to designing the overall technical architecture, integrating AI/ML components, and building scalable, production-ready solutions.

Job Description

• Design, develop, train, and optimize ML models, particularly for predictive analytics and forecasting.
• Design the end-to-end technical architecture of AI/ML solutions, including data pipelines, model components, system integrations, and deployment.
• Actively participate in hands-on software development and implementation of AI/ML solutions.
• Develop and integrate AI/ML components into existing software systems and applications.
• Build and maintain data processing pipelines for model training, inference, and optimization.
• Deploy ML models into production environments, monitor their performance, and continuously improve their accuracy and reliability.
• Contribute to the development of AI-powered functionalities, intelligent automation, and potentially AI agents or RAG-based solutions.
• Participate in technical decisions regarding system architecture, technology selection, and integration approaches.
• Collaborate closely with software developers, data specialists, and energy domain experts to deliver scalable, reliable, production-ready solutions.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in Machine Learning, including model development, training, evaluation, and optimization.
• Solid programming and software engineering skills, with the ability to independently develop production-ready solutions.
• Proven experience in software and technical architecture design, including defining system components, their interactions, and overall technical structure.
• Experience with predictive modeling, statistical methods, and data analysis.
• Ability to design and implement end-to-end AI/ML solutions, from data processing and model development to system integration and production deployment.
• Experience with data pipelines, databases, APIs, and integration of ML models into existing software systems.
• Knowledge of relevant programming languages and technologies used in AI/ML and backend development.
• Experience with ML frameworks and tools such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or XGBoost.
• Understanding of MLOps practices, model deployment, monitoring, and optimization.
• Experience with cloud technologies and environments (Azure is an advantage).
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to take technical ownership of solutions.
• Experience with time-series forecasting, energy markets, or optimization models is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Java, C, or development of system connectors is a plus.
• Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, or AI agents is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary development team.
